    Hi would my son be able to come to your club? He is 12 and for his birthday we are getting him a camera. He has Asperger and we have noticed he has a good eye for photos. but to help him keep his interest he would need a club to go to.
    I would happily come with him. he is better around adults than kids too!
    let me know your thoughts

      Hi Jonathan,
      Thanks for your interest in our club. You and your son would be most welcome to attend. Our club is very friendly and sociable, with a good mix of levels from newbies through to more accomplished photographers, all of whom are willing to share knowledge and experience. Meetings tend to be based around a tutorial followed by a practical exercise on the topic of the night. Recently we have covered landscape, B&W and macro genres plus more technical topics covering depth of field, panning, night photography etc.

      We have a Photo of the Month competition where the winner gets to pick the subject for the following month. It’s competitive but great fun, which the winners chosen by us on the night.
      If you get the chance, we are currently holding an exhibition of members work at Ishka on Station Rd, Broughton Astley, opposite the Red Admiral pub. It’s open from 10-5 and the show is on till Saturday. You are more than welcome to pop along.

      Meetings are held at the Village Hall in The Cottage, the separate building on the left of the entrance. We meet on the first and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:30. The next meeting is scheduled for 7th August. It would be good to see you there.

      If you need any further information, please feel free to email me on secretary@thebroughtonastleyps.co.uk.

      Cheers,

      Andy Pearson,
      Secretary, Broughton Astley Photographic Society.

      Hi John,

      Many apologies, but your visit coincided with a switch of dates. Due to other commitments (the chairman and others wanted to watch the England game) we moved to Wednesday in the main building. The next meeting is scheduled for 7th August. It would be good to see you there.

      Once again, sorry for the mix-up. Blame our chairman and Gareth Southgate!

      Thanks for your interest in our club. You sound like you are very much where I was a couple of years ago after giving up 35mm photography for a while before getting a DSLR and rekindling my interest.
